Irene Curtis Rowe, 82 of Stevenson, AL, died April 10, 2012 at the home of her son in Roseboro, NC. Irene was the daughter of the late L.D. and Martha Porter Curtis, born October 1, 1929 in Jackson County, Alabama. She dearly loved her family as well as her First Baptist Church family.
Besides her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her children: Burley Wayne Corbitt, Frances Sue Corbitt and Mary Grace Corbitt; husband J.D. Rowe.
Survivors include her loving and devoted children: Albert (Linda) Corbitt, Jr. of Roseboro, NC, Joseph Chester and Judy Corbitt of Scottsboro, AL, Charles Wendell (Kay) Corbitt of Dutton, AL, Terry Dwight Corbitt of Hollywood, AL, Rita Faye Shankles of Stevenson, AL; 13 grandchildren; siblings: Dorothy (Fred) Matthews of IN, Jewel Abernathy and Virginia Surrett both of Scottsboro, AL, Carl (Opal) Curtis of Stevenson, AL, David (Linda) Curtis of Pisgah, AL, Randy Curtis of Ringgold, GA; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Thursday 10 AM-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be 11 AM on Friday, April 13, at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Josh Posey and Rev. Roy Venable. Interment will be in the Price Cemetery in Hollywood, AL. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
