I am Carole Johnson Snipes. I went to high school at MCHS and graduated in 1969. My mother and daddy were Tom and Mary Ethel Johnson. Brother, Tommy Johnson (1964) and sister, Mary Alice Johnson Logan, (1966). Ms. Irene taught me English in the 8th grade.....and boy did I learn to diagram sentences and conjugate verbs. Loved her passion for teaching and her love for her students. She was Absolutely one of my favorites!!! Also, a treasured memory was the evening I was baptized in First Baptist Church in Colquitt, she assisted me when I went to the back to put on the white choir robe. These memories I will forever cherish for this special lady! Prayers for you. Becky, and your family.

Loved Cousin Irene, she was always very good and sweet to me. She taught me and Becky how to use a knife one morning at breakfast. She said we were old enough, we learned to cut bacon.
She took my sister Barbara under her wing when Barbara lived in Albany. Barbara worked for Irene and Warren at the carpet shop, also got her involved back in church.

Oh how I do remember her during and after our days at Stephens! And I have so enjoyed seeing her photo occasionally on social media. I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know her personally, but every time I saw her she always talked to me and was always smiling. I think she knew me through Brad. I know you'll are going to miss her so much. I think it was so good that you'll took time to bring her to the ball games. She always seemed to enjoy them, I could tell she loved her family so much. May God give you peace and comfort during this time of grieving. Prayers for all the family.
