Isaac Foy McCrary, 68 life-long resident of Stevenson, AL, died August 6, 2008 at his home. He was a Deacon of Edgefield Missionary Baptist Church, member of Bolivar Masonic Lodge, Cahaba Shriners Temple, Stevenson Jaycees, Stevenson Civic Club. He served on the Jackson County Board of Education, Stevenson City Council, Alabama National Guard. Foy was past President of both Stevenson and North Jackson High School Quarterback Clubs and Announcer of Stevenson and North Jackson High School football games. He was a graduate of Stevenson High School Class of 1958. He was an avid supporter of the Alabama Crimson Tide and loved antique cars and tractors. He worked for Avondale Mille, Fabius Mine and Shaw Industries for a total of 45 years.
Mr. McCrary was preceded in death by his father Jess Isaac McCrary; daughter Melinda Jean McCrary; niece Glenda Welden.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Jean Stewart McCrary, mother Mary Lee Rash McCrary; sons: Michael (Stefanie) McCrary of Huntsville, AL, Chad (Crystal) McCrary of Stevenson; brother Boyd (Bea) McCrary of Stevenson; grandchildren: Landon McCrary, Hunter McCrary, Jordan Eakin; nephews: Lance McCrary, Eddie Stewart; nieces: Sherry Rogers, Terri Smith, Tina Stewart, Amanda McKenzie, Amy Summers and Julia Adkins.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 8, at 2 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL officiated by Bros. Jack Childers, Donald Jacobs and Dustin Henshaw followed by interment at Stevenson City Cemetery.
