Jack Thompson, 64 of Bridgeport, AL, died June 11, 2013 at Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro, AL. Jack had worked as a backhoe operator for Stevenson City Street Department and had also worked at Jacobs Mfg.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents: DeWitt and Eunice Odell Jenkins Thompson and siblings: John Will "Bimbo" Thompson and Carolyn Rodgers.
Survivors include his wife Joyce Marie Miles Thompson of South Pittsburg, TN; children: Jack Edward Thompson, Steven Ray Thompson, Barbara Simpson, Michael Thompson and Jennifer Mae Thompson; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; siblings: Jimmy (Donna) Thompson, Gary "Buddy" Thompson, Sarah Thompson, Faye (Carl) Atkins, Joyce (J.D.) Shafer; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Jack requested to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson,AL assisted the family in handling arrangements.
UPDATE ~ Memorial Service will be Tuesday, June 18, at 1 PM CDT at the Rudder Funeral Home Chapel in Stevenson, AL. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport, AL.
