Jacqueline Diane Tucker's Obituary
Jacqueline Diane Osborne Tucker was born January 2, 1953 to the late Lemuel Osborne and Charley Mildred Davis. On April 4th, 2018 she transitioned into the arms of the Almighty One. Jacqueline was originally from Baldwyn, Mississippi, however during her teenage years she relocated to Scottsboro, Alabama where she became an active and faithful member of St. Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, under the tutelage of current pastor, Tavarus Henderson. Jacqueline also served throughout the church in various roles including being the church secretary, a member of both the mothers’ and ushers’ boards, as well as the founder of Women in Action.
Jacqueline had a certain charisma about her that could always be seen through her smile. A love for children and learning brought her to major in elementary education at Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama, where she was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She later earned her Master of Education from Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Alabama, which led her to teach in the Scottsboro City School System for 37 years. After retirement, Jacqueline also served as a member of the professional educator sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma.
She leaves behind a devoted husband, Clevon Tucker of 35 years. Her children, son, Joaquin Tucker and his wife Vanessa Tucker of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, and daughter, Fawn Tucker of Alexandria, Virginia; two grandchildren, Julian and Vincent Tucker; two brothers, Keith (Kim) Osborne of Huntsville, AL, and Crandall (Sharon) Davis of Tupelo, MS, Sonny (Ruby) Calamese of Baldwyn, MS, Davis (Rose) Calamese of San Diego, CA; three sisters, Shelia (Michael) McGhee of Baldwyn, MS, Joanne Davis of Tupelo, MS, Janice Givhans of Lancaster, CA; four brothers in law, Dwight (Lola) Tucker of Ft. Payne, AL, Doug (Darlene) Tucker of Dallas, TX, Robert (Maria) Tucker of Hollywood, AL, Chris (Charlotte) Tucker of Gadsden, AL; two sisters in law, Peggy Allen of Hollywood, AL, and Starr (Michael) Parr of Tuscaloosa, AL; a special mother in law, Rosa L. Tucker of Hollywood, AL; and Goddaughter, Bonita Talley of Stevenson, AL.
Visitation for Jacqueline will be Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 12-2pm at St. Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Scottsboro, with the funeral service beginning at 2pm.
