Mr. James Roy Allen, age 89 of Scottsboro, AL, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016. he is survived by his daughter, Sandy (Billy) Guess of Stevenson; sons, Jay (Mary) Allen of Tampa, FL, Dennis (Jackie) Allen, and David Allen (Jane McElhaney) both of Scottsboro; grandchildren, Cindy Allen, John Allen, James Allen, and Carrie Webb; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Allen, Hudson Allen, Toula Bucklin, and Tinley Bucklin; brother, Fred B. Allen; sister, Daisy Looney; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first and second wives, Annie Mae Allen and Gladys Davis Allen; parents, Edgar Walter and Mary Alice Dawson; sons, Bruce and Wayne Allen; sister, Katie Denham; brothers, Charles, Thomas, Aubrey, and William Allen; and grandson, Christopher Allen. Visitation for Mr. Allen is Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro. The funeral service is Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Rudder Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ed Herring officiating, and burial to follow at Goosepond Cemetery.
