James Buchanan "Babe" Rorex, Jr., 74 of Bridgeport, AL, died April 21, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
"Babe" was the son of the late James Buchanan "Pete" Rorex, Sr. and Sallie Sparkman Smith Rorex born August 13, 1936 in Bridgeport, AL. He was a Class of 56 Graduate from Bridgeport High School. Mr Rorex had worked as a Journeyman Iron Worker. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1956-1959.
Besides his parents; "Babe" was preceded in death by his siblings Charles B. "Buddy" Smith and Rachel Blevins.
Survivors include his children: Gwen (Jeff) Foster of Vicksburg, MS, James Gregory (Lisa) Rorex of Bridgeport, AL, Michelle (Tim) Allison, Tina (Pete) Ridley, Cynthia "Cindy" D. Coker all of South Pittsburg, TN, James L. Murray of Bridgeport, AL; 13 Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren; siblings: Mary Catherine Essary, Richard Smith, Roy G. Rorex, Rita Campbell, Ralph Rorex, Winifred Hoback; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Friday, 5-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 23, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Howard Allison. Military Honors and Interment will be in the Rocky Springs Cemetery.
