James Melvin Blevins, 76 of Bridgeport, AL, died April 8, 2013 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. James was the son of the late Dewie and Annie Lee Austin Blevins born May 2, 1936 in Rossville, GA. He was a member of the White Dove Church of God in Stevenson, AL. James loved hunting, trapping and was a "jack of all trades". He did it all. Mr. Blevins was in the Skilled Labor Local 846 in Chattanooga.
Survivors include his children: Cynthia Angela (Leroy) Butler, Keith (Betty) Shutters all of Cleveland, TN. Sammy Shutters of Pelham, TN; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9, 4-8 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 10, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Bud Guess and Rev. Cecil Davis. Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
