Buzzy, my brother Ed and I left Ruskin after the spring tomato crop of 1966. We drove an old farm truck that had no brakes up to North Carolina where we found work in Hendersonville for Roy Steppe in his apple packing house. Buzzy and I celebrated our birthday in Waynesville where we visited Uncle Buddy Buzbee looking for work in the tomato packing house. There was no work there so Uncle Buddy told us to try Hendersonville where the apple crop was in full production. It worked out great and gave us wonderful memories I am sure none of us will ever forget.
