James Edward McGuire, 65 of Stevenson, AL, died October 17, 2014 at his home. James was the son of the late J.C. and Gracie Octavia Christian McGuire born August 22, 1949 in Bridgeport, AL. He served in the National Guard of Alabama and had worked at Jacobs Manufacturing.
Besides his parents, Mr. McGuire was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years Jo Ann Guthrie McGuire; children: Sandy (Shawn) Shrum of Bridgeport, AL; Tammy (Stephen) Burgett of Stevenson, AL; grandchildren: Macie Bell Burgett, Blakely Burgett, Mikel Shrum, Chris Smith, Brandon Shrum, Erica Hethcoat; great-grandchildren: Rylee Shrum, Harley Shrum; sister Imogene Mashburn; special niece Rhonda Hambrick of Bridgeport; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Saturday, 6-9 PM CDT; Sunday 10 AM-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Monday, October 20, at 1 PM CDT in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Maxwell Cemetery in Flat Rock, AL. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
