James Lee Sexton, 72 of Bridgeport, AL, died December 6, 2011 at Grandview Medical Center in Jasper, TN.
James was the son of the late George Lee and Alice Mae McAllister Sexton born June 19, 1939 in the Mt. Carmel Community of Bridgeport, AL. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School Class of 58. Jimmy retired as Supervisor after 38 years with the Bridgeport Utilities and served over 40 years with the Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department. Fishing was his hobby.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years Shelia Faye Shedd Sexton of Bridgeport, AL; daughter Angie Sexton (David) Larson of Atlanta, GA, step-son Greg (Debbie) Talley of Bridgeport; grandchildren: Jeannie Cannon (Morris) Hines, Ryan Marion Cannon, Trisha Talley (Jake) Guthrie; great-grandchildren: Ovella and Luke Hines and one on the way; sister Bobbie (Dickie) Vinson of Bridgeport; and other relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday, 5-9 PM CT and Friday 10 AM-2 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Friday, December 9, at 2 PM at the funeral home chapel officiated by Roger Comstock. Interment and Fire Fighter Honors will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
