Mr. James Lelton Walker Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. James Lelton Walker Jr. 1954 ~ 2025
A Joyful Life
We are sometimes blessed with a spark in life that flows within our hearts — a voice that echoes laughter and joy. Such a voice emerged through the likeness of James Lelton Walker, Jr., affectionately known to all as "Boodajack." On March 4, 2025, Boodajack departed this life at Erlanger Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and faith that will forever resonate within the hearts of all who knew him.
Born on March 16, 1954, to James Lelton Walker, Sr. and Clara Louise Walker, James was preceded in death by both parents and his beloved sisters: Patricia Moore, Shirley Robinson, Angela Stubbs, and Wanda Walker.
From an early age, James embraced Christ, becoming a dedicated member of St. Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, where his spiritual journey flourished. In 1996, he was ordained as a minister, delivering his first sermon, "Building on Christ's Solid Foundation.” James continued serving as a devoted minister until his health declined. Despite this, his unwavering faith and passion for spreading love never faltered.
Those who knew James could not forget his infectious humor and warm laughter. His presence always filled the room with joy, whether with family, friends, or strangers. His ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved was a rare gift. The laughter he shared with others lingers in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
James was a proud and loving father to his children: Conbreshia Rambert of Jacksonville, NC, Matthew Lee of Birmingham, AL, Skylar Lee (Lattoria) of Scottsboro, AL, Paul Lee of Chattanooga, TN, and Shingin Lee of Scottsboro, AL. His eight sisters—Sandra Patterson (Robert) of Lansing, MI, Deborah Henry (Jerry) of Huntsville, AL, Gwen Beard (Charles) of Jasper, TN, Rosia Henry (Rudy) of Hollywood, AL, Lannette Williams (Patrick) of Chattanooga, TN, Bridget Caldwell of Chattanooga, TN, Brandi Walker of Atlanta, GA, and Rachelle Walker of Atlanta, GA—and his two brothers, James Eric Walker (Jimmy) of Shreveport, LA, and James Allen of Scottsboro, AL.
A proud grandfather, James, was blessed with four grandchildren: Tiaseer Rambert, Jalaizha Lee, and Jakylan Lee, Maniya Morris. His stepmother, Mary Walker of Atlanta, GA, special aunts Alice Hardic of New Britain, CT, and Genva Walker of Huntsville, AL, and Uncle Thomas Walker of Warrenville Heights, OH, also survive him, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.
James' journey on earth ended, but the memory of his laughter, love, and deep faith will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to share in his light. He lived a life that exemplified the power of joy, faith, and family, and his love will continue to spread through the lives of those who carry his memory.
Rest in peace, Boodajack. You will forever be missed, but your light will never be forgotten.
