Janette Jewell Stubblefield's Obituary
Janette Jewell Stubblefield passed away on December 5, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and quiet strength. Born on January 6, 1955, and raised in Bridgeport, Alabama, Janette grew up with a generous heart and an appreciation for the simple, beautiful things in life.
She found her greatest joy outdoors, hands in the soil, tending the garden she cherished. Whether she was nurturing flowers or filling the pantry with jars of food she had grown herself, Janette poured love into everything she touched. Caring for others came naturally to her. If you needed a warm meal, a listening ear, or a comforting hug, she was there—without hesitation and without judgment.
Janette was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Bice Jr. and Ruby Jo Whitaker, George Whitaker; her brother, Henry Lee Bice; and her sisters, Carolyn Jo Green and Edna May Smith.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Walter Glenn “Doobie” Stubblefield, and her children: Terrie (Dennis) Roberts, Kenny (Alisha) Stubblefield, and Brandon (Sky) Stubblefield. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren—Tiffany (Mason) Light, Alley Stubblefield, and Braxtyn Stubblefield—and her great-grandbabies, Blakely Light and Bennett Light, who never failed to brighten her days.
Janette will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, and the way she made everyone feel valued and loved. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 4-8:00PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson.
Funeral Services, Tuesday, December 9, 2025 beginning at 2:00PM in Rudder Funeral Home Chapel with Shane Smith and Wallace Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Centennial Baptist Church Cemetery.
