Jesse "JC" Clarence Sandridge's Obituary
Jesse Clarence (J.C.) Sandridge answered the Master’s call on Monday, November 4, 2013, and entered into eternal rest with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, at Cloverdale Manor in Scottsboro, Alabama.
J.C. as he was called was the second child and first male child born to Eddie Clarence and Mary Anner Kirby Sandridge on February 5, 1922 in Scottsboro, Alabama.
The Huntsville Times, name him as the Guntersville man that moved kids for over 50 years as a school bus driver. When he was in his mid 20’s, when Mr. D. Woodham, the transportation supervisor for the Marshall County Schools, asked if he’d like a job. The bus rides started in 1947 until he retired in 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Howard Eugene Sandridge, Bessie Louise Grayson, step-son Gerald Dwight Poe.
J.C. confessed life at an early age and joined the Sandridge Chapel AME Church, Kirbytown Alabama. He was a member of the Meltonsville Lodge 224 (now inactive).
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Virginia Poe Sandridge, Guntersville, AL, Step children; Edna Lee (Donald) Smith, Lynn Mass, Houston Poe and Larry (Joyce) Poe, Guntersville, AL. Sister: Thelma Snodgrass, Scottsboro, AL. Sister In-Law: Nettie Earl Sandridge, Gadsden, AL. Several nieces, nephews and cousins and lots of friends.
