Jessie Ann Pellam Barnes, 85 of Stevenson, AL, died January 13, 2012 at her home. Jessie was the daughter of the late Luther and Ruby Ilene Guffey Pellam born January 8, 1927 in Jackson Co. Alabama. Jessie had worked in the produce department at Loyd's, Piggly Wiggly and Shop Rite Grocery Stores. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Marion Hildery "M.H." Barnes, Jr.; granddaughter Christy Leigh Bryant; sister Bertha Summers; brother Eugene Pellam.
Survivors include her children: Linda Miolen of Scottsboro, AL, Inez Godsby of Stevenson, AL, Sherrill (Jimmy) Bryant of Scottsboro, AL, James R. (Gloria) Barnes of Huntsville, AL, Carl (Carolyn) Barnes of Hollywood, AL; grandchildren: Michael Barnes, Billie Miolen Swafford, Gerald Barnes, Angie Barnes Harper, Kelly Miolen, Wendy Bryant Roberts, Chad Bryant; great-grandchildren: Thomas Matthews, Alex and Hannah Grace Barnes; siblings: R.L. Pellam of Stevenson, AL, Allie Pellam of Winchester, TN, Alvin Pellam of Hollywood, AL; and a host of other relatives.
Visitation will be Saturday 6-9 PM and Sunday 10 AM-9 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral will be Monday, January 16, at 12 noon at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. David Beck followed by interment at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, AL. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
