Jessie Mae Hodge Castle, 86 of Bridgeport, AL, died May 12, 2012 at Parkridge East Hospital in East Ridge, TN. Jessie was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Daisy Mae Bynum Hodge born January 31, 1926 in Scottsboro, AL. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bridgeport. Jessie was a retired a nurses' aide at South Pittsburg Hospital.
Besides her parents, Jessie was preceded in death by her husband Joe Cephas Castle; siblings: Kitty Bell Wright, Jean Hammons, Betty Wymer, Mary Hollifield, Myrtle Smith, Ann Skyles, Boots Hodge, Mack Hodge and Ray Hodge.
Survivors include her children: Betty Thomas of Rock Spring, GA, Wayne (Kay) Castle of Bridgeport, AL; grandchildren: Sheila Thomas, Charles Thomas both of Chickamauga, GA, Chris Castle of Scottsboro, AL; 5 great-grandchildren: Britney Stong, Stanley Stong, C.J. Thomas, Cody Thomas, Gracie Thomas; brothers Charles (Pam) Hodge and James (Clara) Hodge both of Toledo, OH; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Monday 3-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 15, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. Owen Durham. Interment will be at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, AL. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
