Jewel McCrary Adams, 79 of Stevenson, AL, died March 26, 2015 at her home. Frances Jewel is the daughter of the late William H. and Mary Ellen Arnold McCrary born December 3, 1935 in the Rash Community of Little Coon, Alabama. Jewel was a graduate of Stevenson High School Class of 1954. She has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church since 1975 where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her son Lonie DeWaine Adams; granddaughter Frances Rae Adams; sisters: Faye Dobbins, Fern Norman; brother Leroy McCrary; and daughter-in-law Brenda Adams.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years Lonie Dee Adams of Stevenson, AL; sons: Alan Adams of Tate, GA, Mark (Janey) Adams of Stevenson, AL, Bruce Adams of Ft. Payne, AL; grandchildren: Marketta (Todd) Robinson of Stevenson,AL, Carrie Adams of Cleveland, TN, Tiffany Adams of Largo, FL,Shane (Andra) Callahan, Shannan (Brandon) Pettit, Shandra (David) Shirley, and Michelle (Jeffrey) Satterfield; great-grandchildren: Austin Robinson, Adria Smith, Wade Britton, Lexi Gash, Samantha Robinson, Deyton and Deanna Callahan, Jozalyn Pettit, DJ, Shyanne and Daniel Shirley, Brittany, Brandon, Blake Satterfield, and Mandy Gentle;
great-great-grandchildren:Tanner and Madilynn Hunter, Brody and Benson Blalock, Logan Shirley, and Wesley Gentle; Siblings: Laura (Tommy) Timberlake, Mark (Betty) McCrary, Wayne McCrary, Ernesteene Roberts, Mary "Toot" Abney; sister-in-law Sue Adams; special friend Sara Wilkinson of Sulpher Spring, TX; a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday 5-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Stevenson, AL on Saturday, March 28, at 1 PM CDT officiated by Rev. Josh Posey. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 12 noon. Interment will be in Wimberly Cemetery in Stevenson, AL. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
