Joe Freeman Stewart, Sr., 66 of Bridgeport, AL, died October 23, 2010 at The Bridge at South Pittsburg in Tennessee. Joe was the son of the late Charles Lindsay and Maudie Jane Howard Stewart born January 8, 1944 in Stevenson, Alabama. Joe was a farmer and over- the-road truck driver. He had attended the Bridgeport Church of Christ.
Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years Sheila Rhea Guess Stewart of Bridgeport, AL; children: Joe (Devonna) Stewart, Jr. of Tiftonia, TN, Susan (Dan) Cobb of Bridgeport, AL; grandchildren: Jessica Stewart, Trey Stewart, Nicholas Cobb and Ashlin Cobb; great-grandson Cameron Wade Stewart all of Bridgeport; sister Sarah Mann of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Sunday 3-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Monday, October 25, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. Danny Rader. Interment will be at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport, AL. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
