Rev. John Henry Gamble, 74 of Hollywood, AL passed away April 17, 2016 at his home. John was the son of the late James Henry and Zelma Mae Kirk Gamble born December 15, 1941 in Stevenson, AL in the cabin which is now located at the Stevenson City Park. He preached at the following churches: Crossroads Baptist Church, Monteagle Baptist Tabernacle, Faith Baptist Church, Lighthouse Baptist Church and Lakeview Baptist Church as well as being a radio evangelist. He preached his last sermon this past Easter.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Jimmy Ray, Mary Elizabeth, Roy Cleveland and Ronnie Dean Gamble.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 55 years Hazel Virginia Bailey Gamble; daughters: Sharon (Larry) Gossett, Regina (Charles Randall) Williams; grandchildren: Deanna (Sam) McGriff, Brooke (Jerry) Phillips, Michael (Shelby) Johnson, Haley Petty, Colt Williams; great-grandchildren: Lillie BreAnn Phillips, Tyson Cole Phillips, Maezee Grace McGriff, Braxton Abel Johnson; siblings: Ernest Wayne Gamble, George William Gamble, Naomi Brooks, Carolyn Sue Parrish; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 2-9 PM CDT, Wednesday 10 AM-2 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 20 at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Tommy Messer and Rev. Donny Hutchins.
