John David Hastings, age 66 of Scottsboro, Alabama, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Thomas West Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN. He is survived by former wife, Jo Ann Hastings of Scottsboro, AL; 4 daughters, Stephanie Bradford of Scottsboro, Tonya (Timmy) Whitehead of Dutton, Sonya Dodson of Scottsboro, and Tiffany Gamble of Scottsboro; 12 Grandchildren, Summer (Kevin) Pitts, CJ (Kristin) Gentle, Mack Allbert, Zan Allbert & Ryder Bradford, Gage Mays, Hunter Mays, River Whitehead, Jesse Whitehead, Savanna Dodson, Colby Gamble, Cory Gamble; 2 Great Grandchildren, Tucker Gentle & Ethan Pitts; 3 Step Grandchildren, Curtis, Justin & Jordan Whitehead; brother, Eddie Hastings of Scottsboro; 2 Sisters, Brenda (Rick) Talley of Aspel & Pam (Tommy) Burton of Bridgeport; a special niece that was like a daughter, Breanna Hastings; plus many more nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, JD and Betty Sue Hastings; siblings, Jimmy Wayne, Nancy Carol, Danny & Tracy Hastings and Cathy Warren; and son-in-law, Ronnie Bradford. Visitation will be Monday, February 01, 2016 from 5:00 – 9:00 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Rudder Funeral Home Chapel in Scottsboro with Bro. Donovan Whited officiating and burial to follow at Inglis Cemetery in Fackler.
