John David Kennemer, 65 of Bridgeport, AL died February 11, 2010 at Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro, AL. John was the son of David Roy and Lady Hunkapiller Kennemer born February 7, 1945 in Stevenson, AL. He served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from TVA Widows Creek Steamplant as start-up engineer and was working for Bechtel. He was a member of Bridgeport First Baptist Church, the Lions Club and VFW.
Mr. Kennemer was preceded in death by his parents; brother Roy Junior Kennemer; sisters: Peggy Kennemer and Ann Etheridge.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Patricia Gail Brown Kennemer of Bridgeport; children: Kelly (Ronnie Raulston) Kennemer, Kris (Amy) Kennemer all of Bridgeport; grandchildren: Hillary and Hayden Piercy, Cain Kennemer, Kade Abbott; sisters Ruby Kennemer Virgin of Mexico City, Mexico, Martha(Dorris) Matthews of Stevenson, AL; brother-in-law Buddy Etheridge; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Sunday and Monday 5-9 PM CST at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 16, at 10 AM CST at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. Brian Guess. Interment and military honors will be Tuesday at 12:30 PM CST at the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN.
