John Arthur Outlaw's Obituary
John Outlaw, a resident of Scottsboro, Alabama, passed away May 24, 2015. He was born in Knoxville, TN August 20, 1934 to Anna Jane and Sidney Baxter Outlaw. He is survived by his loving wife Jane Johnston Outlaw.
John graduated from Tullahoma High School where he played basketball and played trumpet in the band. Following high school, he served in the US Navy.
He started his career with the Bell Telephone system and retired as District Manager of Seven Bell Telephone states.
John was a devoted member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He loved the Lord, his church and his church family. He found great joy in all facets of activities with fellow members. John was always ready to help anyone.
Many friends were made while living on his houseboat at Goosepond. He also enjoyed restoring antique vehicles, golf, and traveling with Jane.
He leaves a son, Eddie Outlaw and Tammy of Maysville, Kentucky; daughter, Melinda Hatfield and Everett of Tullahoma, TN; sisters, Marie Hunter, Nacogdoches, TX and Janie McGarvey, Powder Springs, GA. He is blessed with five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also has four stepchildren, Steven Curet, Susan Stripling, Joanna Nussbaumer, Elise Nussbaumer; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Outlaw.
Services will be at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church Thursday, May 28th beginning at 11:30 with visitation starting at 10:30. Rudder Funeral Home assisting family.
