John Delbert "Rooster" Peacock, Sr., 68 of Stevenson, AL died February 21, 2009 at his home. He had worked as a truck driver for Williams Oil Co. His CB handle was "Rusty Nail". Mr. Peacock served in the Alabama National Guard.
Mr. Peacock was preceded in death by his parents Jack Dennis and Daisy Mae Yell Peacock; daughter Shelia Peacock; son Michael Peacock; brothers: William "Bill", Charles "Bud", and Jerry Peacock.
He is survived by the mother of his children Della Mae Raper Peacock; children: Beverly (Kevin) Boman of Ft. Payne, AL, John Peacock, Jr., Susan (Mickey) Privett, Dewayne (Jenny) Peacock all of Stevenson, AL, Tracy (Candy) Peacock of Philadelphia, TN; grandchildren: Nichole and Kimberly Wooten, Scotty Privett, Ashley, Ryan, Leighann, Brooke, Austin, Shawn, and Amy Peacock; great-grandchildren: Catelinn, Keyarah, and Deven Patterson, Breanna Brooks, Travis Privett; brothers: David (Delphine) Peacock, Houston (Linda) Norman all of Atlanta, GA, sister Evelyn Raper of Stevenson, AL; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Peacock of Sequatchie, TN, Evelyn Peacock of Bridgeport, AL; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Sunday, 4-9 PM CST at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Monday, February 23, at 2 PM at Stevenson Free Holiness Church in Stevenson officiated by Bro. Michael Clark, Bro. Jimmy Furgerson and Bro. Roy Walls. Interment will be at St. Bonnie Venture Cemetery in Bridgeport, AL.
