Mr Johnny Crabtree 82 of Scottsboro passed away at his home on Jan. 1, 2026. Johnny was retired from Chrysler Corp where he worked as a machinist and enjoyed duck hunting. The family will receive friends at the Rudder Funeral Home Read Obituary
I consider myself blessed to have gotten to know Johnny and the rest of the family when I did. He was an amazing man, and trying to pick just one memory to highlight how special he was is impossible. We never get enough time with the truly special people but I for one will always treasure the memories I get to keep of him. All my thoughts, love, and prayers are with the whole Crabtree family.
We will all miss his friendly wave to those that crossed his path - never too busy to offer that friendly acknowledgment to everyone. One memory I have was the time we were stranded in the river on a stalled wave runner in view of his house - a hail storm suddenly blew in, leaving us exposed to the harshness of Mother Nature. Mr. C jumped in his boat and came to our rescue, put himself between us and the severity of the situation. We were so thankful for his immediate response in getting us to safety. We will always be grateful for his watchful eye and attentiveness.
