Katherine Kirk Carlton, 85 of Scottsboro, AL, passed away peacefully at her home at 12:45 PM on December 9, 2017. Katherine Delores was born January 25, 1932 in Stevenson, AL.
She is survived by her husband Claude "Jake" Carlton to whom she was married for 55 years; children: Cathy (Richard) Patty, Judy (Eddie) Brandon, George (Gwen) Meeks, Jerry Lynn (Karen) Carlton; grandchildren: Leigh King, Jennifer Roberts, Jan (J.R.) Woodall, Brian Matthews, Bruce (Niessa) Brandon, Nathan Brandon, Brooke (Cam) Cross, Allison Fatheree and Carley Reed, Ty Cross, Lauren Randles, Drew Randles; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Bobbie Caulder, Ruth Gibson, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Terry Glen Carlton; parents William Lee and Ellie Mae Hughes Kirk; 7 brothers; 1 sister Pearl Parrish.
Visitation will be Monday 4 PM to 8 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 12, at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev Roy Venable and Rev. Albert Carlton. Pallbearers were: Brian Matthews, Bruce Brandon, Nathan Brandon, Bud Kirk, Robby Draper, and Kenneth Chance.
