Kathleen LeRoy Collins, 90 formerly of Bridgeport, AL, died Tuesday evening, June 23, 2015 at her home in Ashburn, Virginia. She was born, raised and lived most of her life in Bridgeport, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Collins, her parents, James Miles "Jim" LeRoy and Helen Marietta "Nettie" Richardson LeRoy of Stevenson; her sister Helen Grace LeRoy Randolph and brothers: Ralph Chester, Gordon Miles "Dooney" and Hampton "Hambone" LeRoy.
Survivors include her two children: son, James Aubrey (Helen) Collins and daughter, Mary Sue Collins; two granddaughters: Cindy Collins (Todd) MacDonald and Wendy Collins (Rick) Mathis; three great-grandsons: Blake and Cade MacDonald and Drew Mathis; five nieces, four nephews and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
Kathleen was well loved by her family and friends and respected by the community due to her positive and upbeat personality and service to the community as a long-time nurse for Drs. Browder and Montricul. A Celebration of her life will be held at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL on Sunday, June 28 at 2 PM. Visitation will be Saturday 2-9 PM and Sunday 12-2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport.
