Mrs. Kathryn Mertz's Obituary
Kathryn Mertz 81, of Scottsboro, died Thursday, September 18, 2014 in Atlanta, GA. following an extended illness.
Kathryn was a resident of Scottsboro since 1973, after relocating from Omaha NE., she retired from Lozier after over 30 years of employment.
She is preceded in death by her husband William B. Mertz, parents; James and Mattie Duke; sisters, Virginia and Dorothy.
Kathryn is survived by daughters Donna Savage, Suzanne Grimes, and Janet Mertz; sisters; Eva Rideout and Martha McDaniel; brother, James Duke; grandchildren, Robert, Daniel Macchietto and Katelyn Brantley; great-grandchildren; Douglas and John Macchietto.
Visitation: 5-8 PM, Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Rudder Funeral Home, Scottsboro.
Funeral Services: 11 AM, Monday, September 22, 2014 at Rudder Funeral Home Chapel
Interment: Cedar Hill Cemetery
Flowers will be excepted but memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Jackson Co. or UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center in Birmingham, AL.
