Kay O'Dell Thomas, age 74 of Murfreesboro, TN, died May 5, 2015 at The Healthcare at Adams Place. Gwendolyn Kay was born July 18, 1940 in Asher, OK to Charles and Pansey Walls O'Dell. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Lindsay Walker Thomas, Jr..
She was survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Sherrie Thomas of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim Fultz of Cartersville, GA; brother and sister-in-law Bob and Virginia O'Dell of Tell City, IN; sister and brother-in-law Pam and Larry Adams of Paducah, KY; sister-in-law Betty Thomas and the late Charles Thomas of Rock Springs, GA; brother-in-law, Harold Soloman and the late Betty Thomas Soloman of Thompson, GA; five grandchildren: Lindsay "Walker" Thomas III and wife Melissa; Stephanie Blankenship and husband Ryan; Meredith McDowell and husband Jim; David Jones and wife Stephanie; and Chris Jones. Also survived by 6 great-grandchildren: Riley and Chase Thomas, Avery McDowell, Daniel, Logan and Kyler Jones.
Kay was a member of the Rocky Springs Church of Christ. She earned her L.P.N. degree in 1971 in Georgia. She had worked at North Jackson Hospital.
Visitation will be held at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport on Thursday, May 7, 10 AM-1 PM CDT followed by a Graveside Service Thursday, at 1 PM CDT officiated by Danny Rader at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
