Mr. Kenneth George Steward's Obituary
Kenneth George Steward was born on July 24, 1955 to Kenneth Jacob Steward and Mary Kate Tolliver Steward in Chattanooga, Tn. He departed this life and entered eternal rest on September 16, 2023 at Highlands Medical Center, Scottsboro, Al.
He graduated from Brainerd High School in Chattanooga. Tn. During his high school years and for several years after, he was a member of several bands. He was the lead guitarist for The Coachmen and Skin Deep. In the 1970’s he toured with the Impressions. They toured across several states which included Tennessee, Oklahoma and Ohio. They also toured abroad in several locations in Germany.
Ken, attended welding school in Tulsa, Oklahoma and worked for several years as a welder. He later started his own welding business; S & T Specialty Techniques in Soddy Daisy, Tn. After moving to Scottsboro, Al to become a caregiver for his grandmother, he relocated his welding business to Scottsboro.
He was a former member of St. Paul AME Church and St. Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Scottsboro. While a member there, he was a Sunday School teacher and the church van driver. He later united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He served as a Trustee of the church and was a former Sunday School Teacher and drove the church van.
One of Ken’s greatest passions was fishing. He often extended invitations to his friends and family to attend fish fries at his home.
He leaves to morn his passing, his son Adrian (Tamara)Steward, stepson, Chelson (Shauna) Cooper and his former wife, Deborah Steward, and several cousins and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Jacob and Mary Kate Steward, and Grandparents; George and Florence (Mrs. Pete) Tolliver, and Church and Exie Steward.
Kenneth George Steward was a special man and he will be greatly missed.
