Kyle Benjamin Matthews Jr., 70, of Martinez, GA., passed away, Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
He was born to the late Kyle and Anna Louise Matthews Sr., February 7, 1943, in Richard City, Tennessee. Kyle graduated from Bridgeport High School and attended the University of Alabama. He is survived by his wife of ten years Delores Matthews.
Kyle traveled and worked around the U.S. and Canada in the nuclear industry until he retired. His passions were his family, his faith, and Alabama football. He was an avid golfer and shared his hobby with his sons and grandsons.
Kyle was an active member of West Acres Baptist Church, Evans, Georgia.
Kyle is survived by his three sons: Kyle (Debbie) Matthews III, of Martinez, GA.; Clay (Lori) Matthews, of Richmond, Virginia; and Mark Matthews, of Augusta, GA. He is also survived by his two sisters: Norma Burt and Bitsy (Roger) Reed. His grandchildren: Kyle (Rachel) Matthews IV of Grovetown, GA.; Sean and Brittany Matthews, of Martinez, GA.; and Tyler and Sydney Matthews, of Richmond, VA. Nephews Benny and Peter and nieces Debbie, Fran and Tammy.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 4-7 pm and Monday, May 20, 2013 from 10-11:00 am central time. Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 11:00 am central time at Rudder Funeral Home, Bridgeport, Alabama with Pastor Larry Harmon of West Acres Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN.
A memorial at West Acres Baptist Church in Evans, Georgia will be held at a later date.
