Lester Allen Lipsey, 58 of Flat Rock, Alabama, died February 17, 2013 at his home. Lester was the son of the late Malcom Young and Helen Louise Holoman Lipsey born in Norfolk County, Virginia. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Mr. Lipsey had worked for Norfolk Railroad as a brakeman for 12 years and had also worked construction.
Besides his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his brothers: James and Larry Lipsey. and a step-daughter Melissa Ward.
Survivors include his wife Deborah Sue Gamble Watson; daughter Jennifer (Robert) Hawkins all of Flat Rock; step-mother Isolde Lipsey; step-children: James Ward, Dawn (Terry) Faulkner; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 8 sisters: Gail Tipton, Lorraine Hall, Teresa Brooks, Marie Gregory, Nita Michael, Leslie Brassfield, Linda Horkin, Mariah Tubb.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 21, 5-9 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM CT, Friday, February 22, at the Sulfur Springs Church in Flat Rock, AL officiated by Bro. Roy Gamble and Bro. Dan Carr.
