Louise Barclay Romans (Kennamer)'s Obituary
Louise Kennamer Barclay Romans 97, of Scottsboro, AL , passed away Monday, February, 13, 2012. She was born in Kennamer’s Cove March 5, 1914, the third child of Elam Kennamer and Nora McDonald Kennamer.
She grew up in the Cove and walked up the mountain to school at Kate Duncan Smith DAR school, and was one of two member of the first graduating class at DAR.
She moved to Scottsboro after marring Hubert Barclay and together they worked for Jacobs Bank almost 40 years until their retirement. She later worked as a teller for several years at First National Bank.
She was a faithful member of the Broad Street Church of Christ and at the time of her death was the
oldest member of the congregation.
Louis Romans is survived by her sister, Martha Hare(Gordon) of Madison and by a step-son Eddie Romans (Sara), and by several step-grandchildren. Also surviving her are nieces Mary Smith (Johnny), Nancy Ingram (Carlton), Lynn Smith, Nephews, Jimmy Page (Hilda), Bill Parks(Nancy), George Parks(Vicki), John Camp (Joanna), Andy Harrison (Sandra), and Mark Kennamer. In addition ,she is survived by 17 great-nieces and nephews and their children and by her caregiver and special friend, who loved and cared for her for the past 8 years, Gloria Edmondson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Hubert Barclay, Her second Husband O. L. Romans, parents
Elam and Nora Kennamer, sisters Alva Camp, Mary Katherine Kennamer, Berta Ruth Page, Eva Mae Parks, Clara Barton Kennamer, and brother McDonald Kennamer.

Visitation: 11 AM, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Broad Street Church of Christ
Funeral: 12 Noon, Thursday, February 16, 2012, the Broad Street Church of Christ
Officiating: Mr. Terry Broome and Mr. Will Parks
Interment: Cedar Hill Cemetery
