MSG Lowell Vernon Flake (Retired), 70 of Bridgeport, Alabama formerly of Franklin, IN, died February 3, 2017. Lowell was the son of the late Albert Marion and Dorothy Mae Balay Flake, born February 25, 1946 in the Bud Community of Franklin, IN. He graduated from Franklin Community High School Class of 1964 and attended Indiana Business College for two years. Lowell served over 30 years as a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and a warehouse supervisor at Ft. Harrison, IN and Ft. Knox, KY. He was a member of the American Legion Post 62 in South Pittsburg, TN. where he spent countless hours helping his son and grandson with a Boy Scout Eagle Badge project building a handicap ramp. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Marie Flake. Survivors include his wife of 46 years Emma Lou Mann Flake; sons: Norm (Kristin) Flake, Thomas Flake; grandchildren: Raegan and Maecie Flake, Logan and Lasson Williams. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-9 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, 11 AM CT in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Greg Fox.
