Lure B Goff's Obituary
Goff, Lure B. age 93 of Anderson, TN passed away December 19, 2024 at her daughters residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 27, 1931 in Anderson to the late John B. Grider and Josephine Jordan Grider. She married the late Billy J. Goff in March of 1952, who served in the US Army for 22 years. They were married 71 years and had four children, Sandra (Johnny) Stevens, Carol (Jimmy) Stubblefield, Susan McBee, and Billy (Martha) Goff, II. A homemaker she sewed crocheted, made quilts, had a ceramic shop, could cook and bake any food item. She worked on the farm mending and building fences, feeding cows, pigs, baby chicks, and other animals we brought home. She milked cows and churned, raised a good garden each year, could look at any garment then make it without having a pattern. A school bus driver for Jackson County Schools for 16 years and also worked in the school cafeteria during that time. She attended Anderson Church of Christ. She was a great Mama. Survived by grandchildren, Chris McBee, Emma Jo Stubblefield Dull, John Stubblefield, Brent McBee, and Cody Goff; great grandchildren, Gavin McBee, Ella McBee, Henry McBee, Walter Stubblefield, and Scottie Drew Goff; sisters-in-law, Earlene Judge, Kay Clark, and Brenda Stephens; and special nephew Cecil (Yvonne) Shutters. Preceded in death by her husband, Billy Goff; parents, John B. and Josephine Jordan Grider.
Visitation will be held at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 5-8:00PM and Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 1-8:00PM
Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 beginning at 11:00AM in Rudder Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Thomas officiating and burial to follow in the Cumberland Cemetery.
