Margaret Crownover Jenkins' Obituary
Margaret Ruth Crownover Jenkins, 94 of Sherwood, TN, passed away on March 7, 2018 at her home. She was born December 1, 1923 in Anderson, TN to George Foster and Flora Mae Hoosier Crownover. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Vernon F. Jenkins, brother C.W. (Lela) Crownover.
She is survived by son Billy F. (Linda) Jenkins; 3 grandsons: Scott (Gina) Jenkins, Shannon (Pam) Jenkins, Casey Jenkins; granddaughter Marsha (Matt) Towry; 5 great-granddaughters: Lily Jenkins, Gracie Jenkins, Emily Jenkins, Mary Mason Jenkins and Briley Towry; 3 great-grandsons: Rivers F. Jenkins, Fisher Jenkins, Dalton Towry; brother Frank (June) Crownover; nephew Danny (Frances) Crownover; several other nieces and nephews dear to her.
Margaret attended Anderson Elementary, Sherwood Jr. High and graduated from Franklin County High School and Middle Tennessee State University. She was a teacher for 36 years, having taught at Anderson, Sinking Cove, and principal of Sherwood Elementary at the time of her retirement in 1981.
Margaret was a member of Anderson Church of Christ. Her hobbies were quilting, gardening and cooking. Margaret was known as "Granny Margaret" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, 4-8 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The Funeral Service will be Friday, March 9, at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Crownover Cemetery in Anderson, TN. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com
