Margie Lankford "Shangie" Wellington, 83 life-long resident of Stevenson, Alabama died January 29, 2010 at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. She was the daughter of Henry and Clara Lee Rudder Lankford, born November 4, 1926 in Stevenson, AL. She was a member of Center Star Church. Besides her parents, Mrs. Wellington was preceded in death by her husband James Lincoln Wellington; sister Virginia Orange; brothers: Henry Cam Lankford, Oscar Lee Lankford; daughter-in-law Ramona Wellington; step-grandson Tom Cobb. She is survived by her sons: Leon (Mary) Wellington of Stevenson, AL, Henry Wellington of Scottsboro, AL, Roy (Ve) Wellington of Scottsboro, AL, Jerry Wellington and Bruce Wellington both of Stevenson, AL; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers: Eugene Lankford of Stevenson, AL, Tommy (Mildred) Lankford of Chicago, IL; sister Odella Wisdom of Huntsville, AL; brothers-in-law: Jordan Wellington of Stevenson, AL and Leonard Wellington, Sr. of Chattanooga, TN; and host of other relatives. The funeral will be Tuesday, February 2, at 1 PM CST at Rudder Funeral Home Chapel in Stevenson, AL officiated by Rev. William Langford followed by burial at Stevenson Community Cemetery.
