Marie Rudder McGuffey, 86 of Stevenson, AL died May 17, 2013 at Grandview Medical Center in Jasper, TN. Marie was the daughter of the late Bowden and Lena Inglis Rudder born December 13, 1926 in Stevenson, AL. Mrs. McGuffey attended University of Chattanooga for two years. She had worked at North Alabama Electric Co-op for 40 years. Mrs. McGuffey had been a member of Stevenson Mothers Club, Business and Professional Women and Stevenson First Baptist Church Women's Auxiliary.
Besides her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband Lester Mitchell McGuffey, granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth McGuffey; cousin Billie Hill.
Survivors include her sons: Bob (Barbara) McGuffey of Stevenson, AL, Mike (Ellen) McGuffey of MS; grandchildren: Stacey (Greg) Greenhaw of FL, Kimberly (Joe) Falkner of AL, Brad (Julie) McGuffey of AL, Mitch (Amanda) McGuffey of NY; great-grandchildren: Tim, Daniel, Ellie and Maybelle McGuffey; Caitlyn and Hanna Grace Falkner, Carson Greenhaw; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, 2-7 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Monday, May 20, at 2 PM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Don Cooper and Rev. Josh Posey. Interment will be in Stevenson City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
