Marjorie Marie Byrd Huffman, 90 of Stevenson, AL, died March 19, 2013 at her home. Marjorie was the daughter of the late Craven and Pearl Maude VanMeter Byrd born November 19, 1922 in Emison, Indiana. She had worked at a factory making parachutes, riveting airplanes and working on army trucks for the military. Marjorie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Harold Bruner McDonald and Charles Warren Huffman; grandsons: Trey Chase Poe, Daniel Paul Ashby, Cody Duran Cagle, siblings: Wayne Byrd and Mary Jane Palmer.
Survivors include her daughters: Betty "Jo" McCrary Martin of Pitken, LA, Joy Ann (Butch) Ashby of Bicknell, IN, Joyce E. (Pat) Stallings of Stevenson, AL; grandchildren: Lori Grider, Tonya Beasley, Billy McCrary, Chris McCrary, Jonathan Ashby, Mark Ashby, Marty Ashby, Kelli Poe, Shelli Cagle, Tiffany Harcrow, P.J. Stallings; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild;siblings: Wanda Applegate, of IN, Bernice Jones of IL, Shirley Anderson of FL, Betty McCullough of IN; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-9 PM CST at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 21, at 2 PM CST at the funeral home chapel officiated by Bro. Brandon Evans followed by burial at Stevenson City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
