Mary Lou Cates Davis, 73 of Stevenson, AL died February 27, 2009 at Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation where she was the second resident to enter the facility. She had worked as a spinner at Shaw Industries.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Eugene Davis Black; father Jimmy Cates; mother Mary Evelyn McCrary Ward; sister Betty Cates.
She is survived by her children: Linda Reno of Chattanooga, TN, Jimmy Davis of Stevenson; brothers: Jimmy (Virginia) Cates of Chicago, IL, Tommy (Julie) Cates of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren: Michael (Christine) Reno, Lindsay Davis, Brooke Davis; great-grandson Owen Nelson.
Visitation will be Sunday, 2-4 PM CST at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL. The funeral will be Monday, March 2, at 11 AM CST at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Bud Guess. Interment will be at 1:30 CST (2:30 EST) at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
