Mary Elizabeth Barnes Green, 85 of Bridgeport, AL died November 14, 2008 at Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation in Bridgeport, AL. She was a long-time member of Stevenson Church of God. Mary had worked at Loyd's Dairy for several years and lovingly cared for all her grandchildren.
Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband Homer Lee Green; parents Charlie and Martha Ann Thomas Barnes; grandsons: Clinton Lee Green and Joshua Wade Green; brother Tom C. Barnes; sisters: Bertha Francis, Alice Harshaw.
She is survived by her children: Dorothy Brownfield of Sequatchie, TN, Barbara (Donald) Carver of Bridgeport,
AL, Virginia (Larry) Hawkins of Stevenson, AL, James (Jana) Green of Stevenson, AL, Lee Roy (Janice) Green of Higdon, AL; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister Edna Mae Wynn of South Pittsburg, TN; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Saturday 5-9 PM CST and Sunday 2-9 PM CST at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL.
The funeral will be Monday, Nov. 17, at 2 PM CST at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. David Marona followed by interment at Stevenson City Cemetery.
