Mrs Mary Carolyn McMahan's Obituary
Mary Carolyn Allison McMahan, 85 of a life-time resident Stevenson, AL, passed away May 11, 2019 at her home. She was born April 10, 1934 to George Milton and Frances Grider Allison.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 66 years, William Wayne McMahan, Sr. ( married June 28, 1952) and her children: Lynn (Ronald) Maples and William Wayne "Bill" McMahan, Jr. of Stevenson; grandchildren: Michael Maples of Flat Rock, AL, Bruce (Danielle) Maples of Bryant, AL, William Wayne "Trae" (Tabatha) McMahan III of Bridgeport, AL, and Matthew (Brooke) Maples of Ooltewah, TN; great-grandchildren: Luke Maples, Blake Maples, Braylynn Mc Mahan, Olivia Maples, and Jordan Cooper. She is also survived by her sister Anne Devers of Scottsboro, AL, brother, Don (Mary) Allison of Huntsville, AL and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Mc Mahan was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Helen St.Clair, brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Annetta Allison and brother-in-law, Kenneth Devers.
Mrs. McMahan owned and directed the McMahan Kindergarten for many years. She later was employed by the First United Methodist Church Day Care as a preschool teacher until her retirement in 2014. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stevenson where she taught Sunday School in the Preschool Department since 1974.
Visitation will be Monday, 4-8 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL Tuesday, May 14, she will lie in state from 1-2 at First Baptist Church in Stevenson followed by the funeral service beginning at 2 PM officiated by Dr. Josh Posey and Rev.
