Melissa Wheat Hall's Obituary
Melissa Wheat Hall, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on March 26, 1964, in Cleveland, TN, Melissa spent her life in South Pittsburg, TN, where she became known for her free spirit, infectious charisma, and unwavering kindness. Her warmth touched everyone she met, and her selflessness was a guiding light for those fortunate enough to know her.
Melissa graduated with the class of 1981, and soon after began her career as a traveling store manager for Pofolks Family Restaurant from 1985 to 1988. However, it was in her later years as a caregiver that she found her true calling, dedicating herself to nurturing others with the same love and devotion she showed her own family. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to her beloved granddaughter, Isabella Jayde Whipps, whom she affectionately called Bella. The bond they shared was unbreakable, filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories.
A lover of animals and nature, Melissa often joked that she was kin to Ace Ventura, the beloved pet detective. She found peace and happiness at the beach, especially in Florida, but also adored spending time in the mountains, where she could embrace the beauty of nature. Her faith in the Lord was profound, and she often spoke about how the show "The Chosen" deepened her relationship with God. Melissa’s spirit was a testament to her belief in love and connection, and she instilled those values in everyone around her.
Melissa leaves behind her only daughter, Jesyka Wheat; her brother, Ethan Hall; sister-in-law, Michelle Hall; niece Alexandria and her cherished granddaughter, Bella. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Beverly Carrol Hall and Aaron Rutledge. In honoring her memory, the family encourages everyone to remember the good times and to smile at her thought. Melissa would want us all to find happiness in our lives, just as she did.
A celebration of Melissa's life , the family requests that you share a kind word or a cherished memory in her honor, reflecting the love and joy she brought to so many.
Scatter Me
Scatter me softly to the breeze, Let me rest among the trees.
No stone or grave need mark my place
For I am held in love's embrace.
No need for sorrow, heavy and deep, My soul awoke; it did not sleep.
The flame returned me to the skies, Where love lives on and never dies.
Find me in laughter, warm and true, In ocean tides and morning dew.
Speak my name and l am near, In every sigh, in every tear.
