Mr. Mitchell Wright's Obituary
Mr. Mitchell Wright, age 75 of Hollywood, AL, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 18, 2017 following a brief Illness. Mitchell was born on July 7, 1941 in Chattanooga, TN to the late James and Vircie Wright. Later he moved to Stevenson, AL and attended school at Carver High in Scottsboro, AL. He married Gladys Stewart in 1959, and to this union they had four children. Mitchell worked at Lodge Manufacture in South Pittsburg, Avondale Mill in Stevenson, and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Scottsboro. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and doing carpentry work. In his later years, Mitchell confessed in Christ to a pastor and minister. He is preceded in death by two brothers, James and Howard Wright; one sister, Emma Jean Hill; and two sons, Rickey and Jerome Wright. Mitchell leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Gladys Stewart Wright; two sons, Gregory (Clo) Wright of Scottsboro and Lamar (Paula) Wright of Gadsden; a host of grandchildren, great-grands, nieces, nephews, and cousins; special cousins, Shirley Ann Jordan and Waymon Jackson; in-laws, Grady (Cheryl) Stewart, Jacqueline (Jerry) Evans of New Britain, CT, Carl (Pauline) Stewart of Hollywood, Reba Stewart of Scottsboro, Betty (George) Witchard of Huntsville; special friend, Oscar Guffey; as well as numerous other friends. Visitation for Mitchell will be Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 6-7 PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro. The funeral service will be Friday, February 24, 2017 at 1 PM in the Rudder Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Old Baptist Cemetery in Hollywood.
