Joy Atkinson, age 86 of Scottsboro, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 08, 2017. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 10 from 11am-12:30pm at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro. A graveside service will also be on Friday at 1pm at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens with Dr. Randy Atkinson officiating. Mrs. Atkinson is survived by her husband, Harvey; daughter, Teresa McLaughlin of Mud Creek; son, Ron and Jennifer Atkinson of Scottsboro; grandchildren, Jonathan and Paige Copeland, Kevin and Alicia Atkinson, Adam and Linzie Atkinson, Nicholas and Graham Atkinson; step grandson, Matt and Christy McLaughlin; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Essie Moro; son, Fred Atkinson; sister, Judy Elmore; and brother, Jimmy Moro. Condolences may be made at www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
