Odessa Lawhorne Werner, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home August 25, 2012. Mrs. Werner was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport, AL. She owned and operated Lawhorne Used Cars and Parts for many years. Her motto was "let me live in the house by the side of the road and be a friend to man" which she lived daily to fulfill.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, George Werner; daughter Donna Joyce Sampley; parents Edward P. and Laura Boldin Bevel; and brothers John W. and Robert E. Bevel.
She is survived by her children: Anne and Richard Kirk and Dana and Wayne Jones; grandchildren: Shane and Denise Kirk, Nathan and Elaine Kirk, Audley and Jennifer Jones and Benton and Amanda Jones; great-grandchildren: Chase and Cameron Kirk, Courtney and Andrew Kirk, Samantha, MacKenzie, Madeline and Bradley Jones and Jacob, Ethan and Emma Jones. Also surviving are her sisters and brother-in-law: Bessie Graham and Betty and Willard Watson; step-grandchildren: Kathy Sisk, Jimmy "Buster" and Reuben Jones.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 28th at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport. Family will also receive friends at the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport from 3 PM to 9 PM on Monday, August 27th, and Tuesday, August 28th, from 10 AM until time of funeral.
