Ola Mae Mathis Gregory, 83 of Bridgeport, AL, died July 18, 2010 at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. She had been a resident at Cumberland Health and Rehabilitation for the last few years.
Ola was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Lillie Mae Rogers Mathis born April 16, 1927 in Bridgeport, AL. She had worked as a payroll clerk for Pittsburg Knitting Mills in South Pittsburg, TN. Ola was a Past Worthy Matron of Bridgeport OES of which she had been a member of for over 50 years. She was a faithfuly member of Harmony Grove Church in Bridgeport.
Besides her parents, Ola was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years James William Gregory; sisters Louise Steele of Rossville, GA and Wanda (George) Samples of Bridgeport, AL; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Monday, 4-9 PM CDT and Tuesday 4-9 PM CDT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 21, at 11 AM CDT at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Doyle Sherrill and Rev. J. B. Jones.
