Paul Edward Payne Sr's Obituary
Mr. Paul Edward Payne, Sr., 80, of Bridgeport, AL, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2018 at his home. He was born in South Pittsburg, Tennessee on November 8 1937 to Garland and Ara Stewart Payne who preceded him in death along with his wife, Bessie Faye Prickett Payne; sisters, Barbara Sexton and Nancy Walker.
Paul, Pud or Buddy as some would lovingly call him was a retired Conductor of the CSX Railroad. He was a member of the Bridgeport Church of Christ serving as a song leader and deacon for many years. He loved to sing and bass was his gift. He loved going to the Friday Night Singings. He also enjoyed playing golf, Alabama football, fishing and hunting with his boys.
He is survived by his sons, Paul E. Payne, Jr., Bridgeport, Alabama and Wade and his wife Tracy Payne of Loganville, Georgia; sister, Phyllis Ridley of Huntsville, Alabama and brother-in-law, Jim Sexton of Bridgeport; several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Bridgeport
Church of Christ with Bro. Roger Comstock and Bro. Danny Rader officiating with burial to follow in the Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM Friday at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Alabama and Saturday 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Church.
