Percy Lee Wordlaw, Sr. 74 of Stevenson, AL, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Huntsville Hospital. Percy was the son of the late Willie and Janie Matthews Wordlaw, Sr., born November 24, 1935 in Madison, AL. He was a graduate of Carver High School. Mr. Wordlaw was a retiree from the Scottsboro Aluminum Plant in Scottsboro, AL. He was a dedicated member of White Rock P.B. Church unti his health failed and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife of 52 years, Estoria Hutchins Wordlaw; (6) children: Diane (Sam) Evans, Darlene (Alvin) Jackson and Randy (Sharma) Wordlaw all of Stevenson, AL, Percy (Lenora) Wordlaw, Jr., Gwen (Ray) Fennell, and Mary (Daryl) Poe all of Hollywood, AL. (2) sisters: Minnie Cotton of Scottsboro, AL, and Lucille Dillard of Stevenson, AL; (3) brothers: Floyd Wordlaw of Stevenson, AL, Lloyd and Roy (Margaret) Wordlaw all of Chicago, IL; brother and sister-in-law George Hutchins and Helen (Miles) Bivens all of Stevenson, AL. The funeral service will be Sunday, February 7, at 2 PM CST at Ruder Funeral Home in Stevenson, AL officiated by Rev. Larry Rainey. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service time. Interment will be at Stevenson Community Cemetery.
