Mr. Phillip Lawrence Kimmel's Obituary
Phillip Kimmel, 86 of Scottsboro, AL passed away on July 5, 2024 surrounded by loved ones after a battle with
cancer.  “PK” was predeceased by his spouse Pat Kimmel; Daughters Laurie Kimmel and Cheri Morefield; Parents Wilfred and Cecilia Kimmel; Brother Joseph Kimmel; Brothers-in-Law Roger Wake and Jim Miller.
Survived by daughters: Julie (Duane) Didricksen, Jenny (Crist) Granum, Tamra (Patrick) Lucero, Pam Morefield; Sons: Tom (Paula) Kimmel, Greg (Maria) Kimmel, Andy (Dusti) Kimmel; Sisters: Rose Wake, Carol Miller, Mary (Dennis) Miller, Kathleen (Jerry) McDonough; Sister-In-Law: Beverly Kimmel; Brother: Dan (Josie) Kimmel. PK is survived by 23 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. PK is survived by a special lady, Janet Sage. He retired as an Electrical Engineer. He was the Lead Engineer for the electrical work at Jacobs
Field/Progressive Field Stadium in Cleveland, OH for the Cleveland Indians/Cleveland Guardians when it was
completed in 1994. He was involved in Lawyer’s for Literacy while in FL. Member of Scottsboro Lions Club,
and past President and received the Melvin Jones Fellow award for his dedication with humanitarian services. He volunteered at the ARC of Jackson County & received the Volunteer of the Year award in 2014. He is a member of the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and was an Usher, Lay Reader & Vestry member.  He volunteered with the food pantry, packed, transported & distributed food. PK was also a Marine.
Services will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on July 20th at 1:00 p.m. Services will be streaming on YouTube.com at Saint Luke Episcopal Church Scottsboro.
The family would like to thank Hospice of North AL for their compassionate care, and As Close as Family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ARC of Jackson County or St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
