Rabon Lavern Sanders, 71 of Bridgeport, AL died January 8, 2010 at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. He was the son of Ulric Allen and Flora Belle Ray Sanders, born June 1, 1938 in Conway, SC. Rabon was a life-long papermaker having retired as manager from Smurfit-Stone (Mead) Paper Mill.
Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
He is survived by his children: Debbie "Susie" (Bobby) Dorries of Valliant, OK, Jeffrey "Lavern" (Denise) Sanders of Omaha, NE, Landen Dare (Chasity) Sanders of Stevenson, AL, Molly Elizabeth Sanders of Bridgeport, AL, Matthew James (Amy Rollins) Sanders of Whitwell, TN, Angel Ballard Roper of Stevenson, AL and Chad (April) Ballard of Stevenson, AL; grandchildren: Kaprica Holleman, Bobby Dorries II, Brett Sanders, Logan Crabtree, Lillian "Lilli" Crabtree, Christopher Sanders and Cooper Sanders; great-grandchildren: Kaeli, Tristan, and Trevor Holleman; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Saturday, 5-9 PM CT at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport, AL. The funeral will be Sunday, January 10, at 2 PM CT at First Baptist Church in Bridgeport, AL officiated by Rev. Jim Bernard. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport.
